GOTV Walk/Call Lists, PC Strategy Work, Govern your party

(Another report from Coldwarrior)

Last night in LD 22 which is in CD 6 (Jeff Flake's district) and comprises parts of Mesa and Gilbert, they had their third election for Chairman.  First election was declared null and void because a lot of Flake people improperly carried proxies.  Under the bylaws, only a registered Republican from the precinct of the elected PC may carry the proxy for that PC.  Designed that way for a reason -- it's an incentive for PCs to get to know the other Republicans in their precinct.  And it prevents fraud.  Like the Flake folks were engaging in ("Hi, I'm a fellow 'conservative' Republican and am calling to do you the favor of carrying your proxy to the meeting.  Don't worry, I'll vote for the 'conservative' candidates!).

Flake's staffer "won."

I had told the new conservative PCs, many of whom I recruited at tea party rallies and meetings, that they needed to get a phone list of all the PCs and then cold call them and find out if they were "conservative" and, if so, get them to come to the meeting or send their proxy.  So they got a phone list and got on the phone and sent e-mails, etc., to GOTV.

Next go 'round, Flake's staffer, and the real conservative, Jeff Smith, who had run in the primary against Flake, tied.

Progress.  So, I told them they needed to do their GOTV again.

And, last night, the conservative, Jeff Smith, beat the Flake staffer, 128 to 118.  Which means . . . we conservatives have one more vote on the County Committee, which may allow us to have a better chance in the near future to endorse a conservative who might come forward to challenge Jon McKyl in the primary.
