My name is Ken Marrero. I was recently elected as the Regional Vice Chair for the Republican Party in Davidson County, TN. This is why it is important who gets elected; who governs!!

To listen to the folks that attended the “Tea for Two” rallies last weekend on the Capitol grounds in Tennessee, the numbers tell the story. Regional Vice Chairs for Davidson County soon to be announced!!

Davidson County RP Chair Kathleen Starnes and her team have added 7 new positions to the County Executive Committee and structure. They are Regional Vice Chairs. The RVCs are each responsible for overseeing and leading the organization of the County GOP in 5 of the 35 Nashville City Council Districts. Davidson County just held its bi-annual convention, the first of two steps to elect Executive Committee members and prepare for the 2012 elections.

As I was the only person who showed up to represent Council District 14, I'm pretty sure I now have some sort of official position. Perhaps even a Title!!  Can't wait to tell mom. She'll be so proud!!

The really fun part is on March 26th where I'll be running for the position of Regional Vice Chair for the East Region. This position will be responsible for organizing 5 Council Districts all the way down to the Precinct level in Davidson County. This will be important as out of the 34 remaining seats held by Democrats in the State House, 8 of them are in Davidson County. There is a lot of opportunity here!!

If you live in or near Davidson County Tennessee (Nashville) and are interested in helping, there are 4 other Regions and 30 other Council Districts and well over 100 Precincts which will be looking to get organized in the next few months. That way we'll hit the ground running in 2012.
