American Majority Precinct Committeeman Seminar in LA this Sat

You may have already heard of the big training bomb American Majority was putting on nationwide yesterday to teach activists how to get inside their party and change its direction by governing the party from within. If you missed the big national AM Precinct training day, you still have one remaining chance: Los Angeles!

Due to the CA Republican convention, we weren't able to sync with the rest of the country and have our training on Constitution Day, Saturday September 17, so we scheduled the LA event for the following week: September 24, 2011 in Los Angeles. If you're going to be in or near LA, you'll want to mark this on your calendar, register, and attend.

What will I learn?

Most importantly, you'll learn how to join your county party central committee and begin to assume governance over your party. Party central committee members vote for county officers, policies and party platform. Since many voting seats on these central committees are vacant (empty, unoccupied) getting seated on the central committee is usually quite easy - plus we'll show you how to get started now by seeking a vacancy appointment so you don't have to wait for the next party election or caucus.

Our scheduling problem resulted (as noted above) from a schedule conflict with the California Republican Party state convention and all your instructors - who have all already done what we are about to teach you - were required at the state convention. You see, there is a power vacuum on the state central committee as well, and once you serve at the county level, many are quickly drafted upward to serve at the state level as well. We'll teach you how that is done, too.

So if you are interested in changing the direction of the party, you are needed in the effort to make that happen - get inside your party and begin governing it from within! This is a 'must' seminar for any precinct activist and a first for LA.

This is a non-partisan event and what you will learn will work with any state-recognized party in California.

The good news is that if you decide you want to get involved and help govern your party toward values that more directly reflect it's members, there are many who think like you already there! You won't be the first; many like you are there ahead of you and we've identified several additional areas where you might need more preparation to serve effectively:

- A panel of serving Central Committee members will speak and answer questions
